民進黨主席蔡英文日前喊出有信心拿下至少3個直轄市，包括台中市在內，希望能贏得9到10席縣市首長，今天她談到新北市的選情時表示，新北市具有非常關鍵性的指標意義，雖然很不好打，但是對於民進黨是重要的挑戰。

蔡英文今天參加市黨部第3屆執評委就任典禮，在致詞時表示，年底新北市的選戰目標是「市長勝選、市議員過半、里長倍增」；蔡英文強調，將讓台灣人在這次選舉中看見，民進黨是可以在逆境中求勝的，這樣的政黨也才能帶領台灣走出逆境與困境。
