索尼社長：董事會拒絕分拆娛樂部門

索尼公司(Sony Corp.)今天(6日)表示，董事會無異議通過，拒絕美國億萬富豪羅布(Daniel Loeb)領軍的避險基金分拆索尼娛樂部門的提案。

索尼社長暨執行長平井一夫(Kazuo Hirai)在致函羅布的信中說，索尼的董事們已一致決定，繼續保有百分之百的娛樂部門，才是索尼向前邁進的最佳道路，這是索尼策略不可或缺的一部份。

信中指出，索尼將繼續針對股東們任何具建設性的回饋進行全盤考量，並保證會和羅布維持具創造性的關係，並歡迎持續進行對話。

根據紐約時報(NYT)報導，羅布是在5月初造訪東京會見索尼高階主管和政府官員，並且致函平井一夫。

根據彭博社取得的信函內容，羅布領軍的避險基金Third Point，要求索尼透過首次公開募股(IPO)出售娛樂事業高達20%的股權，並專心投入電子事業。Third Point宣稱，索尼價值將因娛樂事業IPO而提升。

根據紐時，Third Point持有索尼6.5%的股權，是索尼最大股東之一。
