「魔術師」徐生明總教練，為台灣國球寫下輝煌成就，多次擔任國家隊教頭，成績斐然，尤其是2003年亞洲棒球錦標賽，徐總帶領國家隊，取得雅典奧運參賽權，至今仍令球迷津津樂道。
徐總曾在1995年帶領國家隊出征日本倉敷亞錦賽，挑戰隔年亞特蘭大奧運參賽權，但那一次我國代表隊準決賽跟南韓苦戰10局，以5比6輸球，無緣奧運。這個仇，徐總8年後在日本討回來。
2003年亞錦賽在日本札幌舉行，徐總率領的國家隊，打下2勝1敗成績，獲得第二名，同時拿到雅典奧運參賽權。
最令球迷難忘的是，首戰跟勁敵南韓殺進延長賽，猶如8年前倉敷的翻版，不同的是，在札幌獲得棒球之神眷顧的，換成台灣好手，高志綱一記巧妙無比的高彈跳，幫助台灣驚險以5比4贏球。
隔年，徐總風光率領台灣好手們重返奧運殿堂，成為台灣史上第四位奧運棒球總教練，前三人是吳祥木、林家祥、李來發。 (接下一頁)
