蘋果在大馬申請「startup」為商標

蘋果（Apple）已向馬來西亞智慧財產主管當局提出申請，要把常用字「startup」（意為新創）註冊為商標。

華爾街日報報導，馬來西亞智慧產權組織表示，蘋果提出四項申請，商標應用範圍涵蓋電腦和行動服務，從零售店服務到教育領域，都在註冊之列。

報導指出，目前尚不清楚蘋果有什麼打算。蘋果在馬來西亞是透過經銷商賣產品，並沒有直營的蘋果商店。

專利律師指出，馬來西亞商標法並未禁止普通用語不得註冊為商標。律師吳如霜（音譯）說：「只要另有別的意義，註冊一般用語的確是可能的。」

蘋果提出的四項申請中已有三個進入公評的程序，公眾可有兩個月時間提出異議，另一個尚待主管當局認可。
