台灣鼬獾染狂犬病　3年前就有

【邱俊吉／台北報導】狂犬病疫情找到源頭，台灣鼬獾染病已有3年。狂犬病中央流行疫情指揮中心今表示，在2010年7月17日，南投已有鼬獾染病，將向世界動物衛生組織更正，這天才是我國狂犬病疫情的起始日。

指揮中心指，農委會家畜衛生試驗所針對特有生物研究保育中心，在2010年7月至今年7月間冷凍保存的13隻鼬獾進行回溯性研究，結果13隻鼬獾中有5隻檢出狂犬病抗原，當中時間最早的1隻為2010年7月17日、採集自南投縣國姓鄉，已間接證實此狂犬病病毒株非新入侵，至少在2010年7月即已存在台灣鼬獾族群中，但過去3年針對貓、犬與蝙蝠的監測，卻都未發現病毒跨物種傳播。
