在iPhone關機的狀態下，仍可透過麥克風監聽用戶，此說法已獲專家證實。

當手機關機時，雖然看似電源已經切斷，但實際上手機進入了低能耗模式，
關鍵的通訊晶元仍處於活躍狀態。

這種“假死”狀態使得手機仍然可以接收指令，包括啟用麥克風的指令。

要保證手機完全不能操作，必須讓其進入所謂的DFU模式。

要進入DFU模式，首先要將iPhone插入電源插口或USB介面，
然後按住關機鍵，三秒後再按住Home鍵，之後再同時按住這兩個鍵10秒。
放開電源鍵時仍要繼續按住Home鍵10至15秒鐘。

經過這些操作後，手機便會進入DFU模式。
