因受到颱風麥德姆影響，復興航空傳出飛安意外！一架由高雄飛往馬公的復興航空GE 222班機，突然緊急迫降在湖西鄉西溪村，根據澎湖縣消防局分局長洪永彭證實，在現場救出12位民眾，其中一位到院前已經不治，另外有46位民眾生死未卜，恐怕已經罹難。

民航局長沈啟獲知消息後，晚間8時多出面開記者會表示，這架復興航空GE 222班機機型ATR-72，原本預定22日下午4時從高雄小港機場起飛，後來延誤到5時43分才起飛，機上有54名乘客與4位機組人員，飛機機齡14年。

沈啟說，飛機疑似因風雨太大，6時多時迫降在澎湖縣湖西鄉西溪村，後來7時06分跟塔台聯絡準備重飛，才剛離開跑道沒多久，就在300英尺處墜落重摔起火。

根據澎湖縣消防局分局長洪永彭證實，在現場救出12位民眾，其中一位到院前已經不治，另外有46位民眾生死未卜，恐怕已經罹難。

飛機墜落時還不慎撞上一間無人居住的民宅，將民宅撞毀，據悉，案發現場屍塊散落，起火時還波及另外兩戶民宅。
