雖然沒得到選秀節目冠軍，但憑藉個人獨特魅力及堅強實力照樣能出頭天！韓國歌手姜昇潤（KANG SEUNG YOON）、美國歌手琳西特莉就是最好的兩個例子。
當歌手原是姜昇潤（KANG SEUNG YOON）的人生目標，國中時卻因貪玩荒廢學業，有天他無意間見到媽媽落淚，才驚覺自己傷了媽媽的心，這讓單親的他下定決心要朝歌手路邁進。他參加選秀節目【SUPER STAR K】第二季擊敗133萬人，歷經八個月賽程，最終雖只奪下第4名，但仍獲YG娛樂賞識與其簽約。

磨練三年之後，姜昇潤（KANG SEUNG YOON）於16日推出首支單曲《It Rains》，隨即登上韓國九大排行榜王位，氣勢驚人。而美國「魔琴少女」琳西特莉（Lindsay Sterling）擅長將小提琴融合現代舞、芭蕾和嘻哈元素演出，表演卻遭到【美國達人秀】的保守評審狠批像是「被勒死的溺水老鼠」（drowned rats being strangled）。
被淘汰後她努力尋找表演機會，但沒唱片公司願意投資，度過一段四處碰壁的低潮時光後，琳西特莉無計可施之下把影片上傳到影音網站Youtube，累積點閱率已超過三億六千萬次，也引起Lady Gaga（女神卡卡）經紀人Troy Carter注意將她納入旗下，琳西特莉首張同名專輯23日在台推出；姜昇潤（KANG SEUNG YOON）的處女作《It Rains》將在今天（18日）於全台數位通路發行。
