公共工程委員會在行政案組織改造後，業務將歸併到國家發展委員會、財政部和交通建設部，加上主委陳振川請辭返校任教，行政院長江宜樺今（29）日宣布由副主委顏久榮代理主委一職。
陳純敬今年2月18日調任交通部政務次長，工程會副主委遺缺由主祕顏久榮升任，陳振川請辭後，顏久榮代理主委一職，肩負工程會組改前的業務重任。
行政院指出，八八水災重創林邊及佳冬地區，顏久榮奉派至八軍團協助救災及相關重建工程，在50天內即完成任務，讓林邊及佳冬地區居民回復正常生活。
顏久榮隨後並擔任重建會基礎建設處處長，負責基礎建設重建復建工程、永久屋興建工程之推動，期間展現工程專業與管理能力，協調績效優異，頗獲重建區民眾及地方單位的讚許與肯定，並於民國99年獲選行政院模範公務人員，民國100年獲頒功績獎章。
顏久榮是亞洲理工學院結構及營建工程碩士畢業，曾在美國、英國進行長達1年半的工程施政與專業考察研究，具國際視野。顏久榮從省府時代公共工程局基層做起，歷經住都局、營建署工程規劃設計、工務管理主管等職務，具有37年的工程實務歷練。
