曾得過奧斯卡最佳男主角獎的菲力普西蒙霍夫曼（Philip Seymour Hoffman），於美國時間2日被發現陳屍家中，享年46歲，警方找到霍夫曼時，他倒臥在自家浴室中，手臂上還插著針筒，疑似因吸毒過量猝逝。

菲力普西蒙霍夫曼是一名美國演員及導演，以《柯波帝：冷血告白》贏得2006年奧斯卡最佳男主角獎，也被奧斯卡3度提名，還曾演出過《不可能的任務3》、《飢餓遊戲2》等。

菲力普西蒙霍夫曼被警方發現時，僅穿著短褲、T恤，躺在浴室地板上，手臂上插著針筒，現場沒有酒精、藥物的痕跡，但卻發現裝有海洛因的信封，疑似吸毒過量才導致不幸。
