Google、微軟推手機防盜機制

Google與微軟將在他們的下一代智慧手機作業系統中納入一種破壞機制(kill switch)，因為證據顯示，這類的安全措施有助嚇阻竊盜。

手機科技公司近年來一直承受來自各界人士的壓力，要求他們必須增加癱瘓遭竊手機的功能，以阻止盜賊轉售贓物牟利。根據美國聯邦通訊委員會的資料，主要都市中逾三成的搶案都涉及手機，高價的智慧手機尤其是顯著目標。
